Role: SAP FI Funds Management (FM) Architect
Location: Washington, D.C. (5 Days Onsite – Look EST candidates)
Position Summary
We are seeking a senior-level SAP FI Funds Management (FM) Architect to spearhead the design, configuration, and structural optimization of enterprise budgeting and funds tracking systems. This role requires an industry veteran capable of managing complex budget structures, commitment controls, and fund allocations within an S/4HANA environment. The successful candidate will leverage strong banking or public-sector finance best practices to maximize cash visibility and financial compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Architectural Leadership: Drive the end-to-end blueprinting, functional design, and realization of the SAP Funds Management (FI-FM) module.
- Budget & Commitment Control: Configure and optimize the Availability Control (AVC) framework to effectively manage budgets, active budget tolerances, and prevent overspending.
- Integration Management: Ensure seamless integration of Funds Management with core SAP modules including General Ledger (FI-GL), Asset Accounting (FI-AA), Materials Management (MM/Procurement), and Sales & Distribution (SD).
- S/4HANA Optimization: Architectural design of fund centers, commitment items, and functional areas utilizing modern S/4HANA Universal Journal capabilities.
- Banking & Treasury Alignment: Align treasury, cash management, and banking interfaces with the funds management hierarchy to ensure accurate cash-flow tracking.
- Data Strategy & Migration: Oversee technical data mapping, legacy budget conversions, integration testing cycles, and hypercare support during major transformation phases.
Technical & Professional Qualifications
- 20+ years of total IT/Industry experience, demonstrating deep enterprise domain authority.
- 10+ years of dedicated experience focusing on SAP FI Funds Management (FM) solutions and configurations.
- 4+ years of direct architectural design and implementation experience within SAP S/4HANA.
- Banking Domain Expertise: Strong knowledge of global financial industry best practices, liquidity management, and banking sector standards (preferred).
- Proven track record designing multi-level budget hierarchies, derivative rules, and complex master data structures.
- Superb communication and advisory skills, with a demonstrated ability to guide corporate treasury and finance executives through complex technical decisions.
